In 1993, as a result of a large investment, the construction of the first and only linear electron beam accelerator in Italy became a fact. E-beam irradiation is a process in which the polymer is exposed to a high charge stream of electrons which improves the mechanical and physical properties of the insulating material. This helped with the development of cables for the railway sector, such as internal cabling for rolling stock and miniaturized high temperature resistant cables for railway and industrial applications.
In 2011 Metallurgica Bresciana S. P. A. Expand its international activities by establishing a new production site in Ma′anshan, China for the production of cables for the local market.
