Prolong motor life and increase compressor efficiency
When compressors operate in cold areas, refrigerant can migrate into the crankcase oil whenever the compressor is not running. On start-up, this can cause excessive motor wear and a loss of refrigeration efficiency.
 
FreezGard self-regulating crankcase heaters provide reliable peak heating during critical cold periods and, unlike conventional constant-wattage heaters, reduce their heating once the compress-sor starts up or the air temperature rises. Also, self-regulating heaters can be safely overlapped and closely spaced without burning out; so one size fits all hermetic compressors up to 5 HP that are 40 inches or less in circumference.
 
Models for both 120 Vac and 208 to 277 Vac are available. Each comes with a flexible lockstrap and presripped 28-inch cold leads for easy connection and hard-wiring. Use only with refriger- action compressors in nonhazardous areas.

When temperatures drop, the carbon molecules in the conductive core of the FreezGard crankcase heater create a network of electrical paths that increase the heat output. At 0°F, for example, each heater has an output of 60 watts.

When the core temperature rises-as it does when the ambient temperature increases or where the heater is over- lapped on itself-the core expands and the network of electrical paths begins to disconnect. At 100°F, for example, each heater has an output of 15 watts. Therefore, the FreezGard crankcase heater can be overlapped without overheating.

1.How long will it take for the underfloor heating system to warm up?
The warm up time of an electric underfloor heating system will be dictated by the insulation used beneath it and the output of the system. In general, the better insulated the sub-floor the faster the system will warm up, with Underfloor Insulation boards?facilitating a very speedy warm up time of as little as 15 minutes, and un-insulated concrete floors causing the slowest warm up time. Using a?200W system?beneath ceramic/stone tiles provides a faster warm up time than 150W system.

2. Can I turn my heating on the day it is fitted? 
If you have installed your heating beneath tile adhesive, levelling compound or a screed you must allow this to dry out before turning on your system for the first time. If the system is turned on too early it will force the moisture out of the covering which may lead it to crack. We would recommend speaking to the manufacturer of your flexible tile adhesive, grout or screed to confirm the drying time required.

3. Does each room require its own thermostat?
We would recommend that each room has its own heating system controlled by its own thermostat. This will allow for simpler and more accurate temperature control of each room and will avoid heating rooms which do not require it.
